Dear
Friends,
I
have been so busy using my new energy work skills in my practice
that my first newsletter of 2005 has arrived in May. In this
issue, I wanted to share with you the marvelous stories that have
resulted from my personal experience, both as client and energy
worker, since the new year.
Most
of my training is shamanic based, which simply means that I have
been trained in the traditions of an indigenous people, in my case
of the Inka. If you are not familiar with shamanism, the work
can seem strange. I work with stone allies, plant allies,
animal allies, rattles, feathers, journeywork and other medicine
tools. What is important in energy medicine is not necessarily
the tools, but the intention of the shaman and the client.
This
energywork can be done long distance with the same results as being
in person. I have performed healings on clients in different
locations around the world from my office in Portland, Oregon.
My
on-going coaching clients still receive coaching, but what I have
discovered is that combining energywork to remove blocks and to
restore vitality with coaching makes the coaching process move very
quickly. I am excited to see in just the past few months how
quickly my clients are moving into the lives that they desire.

Illuminations
and Extractions
Most clients who receive energy work from me begin with an Illumination,
which removes heavy energy of a traumatic event that has happened
to us in this lifetime. Sometimes while doing the Illumination
the client may feel aches and pains. This usually means that
some of the energy becomes so heavy it can solidify in different
parts of the body, and a solid extraction is needed. Once
this solid energy is removed, physical symptoms usually resolve
on their own.
Other
times the energy is fluid in the body, and a fluid extraction using
a special quartz crystal is done instead. Usually fluid energies
are thought forms that do not belong to us. They can come
from strong minded relatives or friends, and can be very confusing
mingling with our own belief system. If they gain enough energy,
they can even feel like a whole persona. Removing these fluid
energies can help clients regain their own centeredness and make
room for more of themselves to inhabit their energy system.

Soul
Retrieval
When
we undergo a traumatic event, a healthy piece of our souls can break
off and leave us. We may feel dissociated or physically depleted
afterwards, and we may not be able to recollect the traumatic event.
Many times we know we are in need of a soul retrieval when we say
that we never felt the same, or never recovered, after the event.
The shaman can bring back this healthy soul part and restore our
vitality. Usually an Illumination and any needed Extractions are
completed first to make enough room for the soul part to come back
to the client easily. The shaman will then travel to the "underworld"
where lost soul parts are stored and rewrite the contract that sent
the soul part away in the first place and negotiate for the soul
part's return.

Underworld
Extractions and Generational Imprints
Sometimes
while doing Soul Retrievals it becomes apparent that the the original
trauma did not occur to the client, but to an ancestor. The
shaman journeys back in time to visit the original incident and
break any contracts that the ancestor may have made, within the
same soul retrieval process. At the same time, and Underworld
Extraction may be called for, in which old belief systems are so
ingrained that they have become etched deeply into the psyche and
appear in the underworld symbolically.
