Hello everybody,
I’m Steve.
A few years ago I used to be really open to “weird” visions/experiences. For example, one time when I was going to sleep, I saw a vision of this face. It was grotesque, 3-D, and human. The face rotated so that I could see the profile of the right side of this face, then I opened my eyes saying “What the heck was that?” What I remembered was the hair on this head. It was combed straight back, wavy, and wet looking. A few weeks later I saw a very similar face (again while I was trying to go to sleep) that was not grotesque this time. It was almost feminine looking. It yelled at me “AHHHH!” I immediately opened my eyes. Again, having no clue who this person/head/presence was or what it meant
Here’s the kicker. One day at work weeks later, one of the guys in the office was standing in the doorway looking in my direction. He combs his hair straight back. It’s wavy. He likes the wet look. Then it all of sudden hit me, the face/vision I had been having was him. I was floored. I wasn’t sure if I should do anything so I did nothing.
Maybe a week or so later, I am having a conversation with him. I was being my normal happy self. He asked me: “How do you do it?” Of course I replied “Do what?” He asked “how do you stay so positive and happy.” I told him that “I just DO.” I later found out that he had been suicidal at one time. He had a lot of anger and depression. I never found out about what though. He and I were both laid off from that company 3 years ago. That’s the last time I saw him.
That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
You know, I’ve had a lot of visions and dreams and I just don’t know what they mean. What can I do to help me understand what I am seeing. A lot of times these visions are very relevant, but it isn’t until after the fact I understand them. A friend of mine called me a prophet because of these visions.
Thank you for listening.
Steve
Hi Steve,
Sounds like you have some really open channels during dream time. The trick is to get used to using your dream time and to being very selective about what channels you allow yourself to receive. When we’re first getting started with our gifts, we can have bizarre, unpleasant experiences. Sometimes these dreams can be prophetic, but what can be frustrating is that we can do nothing to change the outcome of them. In those cases, I always suggest to clients that they “change channels” so they won’t receive that kind of disturbing information.
Dreamtime is basically outside of linear time. When we are in dreamtime, we can travel back and forth and around the wheel of time. For the shaman, the skill is to do this consciously in order to change and heal the past and to draw in the best destinies for the client, and the planet (not to mention for the self, too!)
You have a great potential there. If you’re interested in exploring more, I highly recommend Richard Moss’ book, Conscious Dreaming, as a way of getting started, and as a way of making sure you receive information you want to receive. Before you go to bed, make sure to set the intention that you will ONLY be open to information that will help you with your goals and healing, and nothing else.
If your dream time is super active, and you do not like it, a sea salt and baking soda bath before bed can help, along with putting a bowl of salt water by the beside.
If you want to learn how to go into dreamtime consciously, consider learning how to Journey, or pick up a book on Lucid dreaming. Remember, the more willing and open you are to your psychic channels, the more they will open for you, and the more the experiences will be pleasant ones. The more we think of these experiences as weird or bizarre, unfortunately, we leave ourselves open to the more unsavory experience. Have fun with this, make it an exploration, and yes, this is a really neat channel to have open and working for you!

Hi, just wanted to respond and say that I am starting “again” to pay attention to my dreams. I find that sometimes right before I fall asleep I will see a still photo of something.. sometimes it makes sence and sometimes it does not. I am definitely going to incorporate my intention to be open only to info that will help me with my goals and healing and nothing else… as Elaine suggested.
Lori
Thanks for the responses!
I definitely can relate to the still photo.
I haven’t had many lately. I don’t know if I flipped the switch off or not, but I kind of miss the experiences. It is a reality that I want to continue experiencing everyday! I guess it helps me remember that there is a lot more to life than what we see. But yeah, I don’t want a whole bunch of stuff that I don’t resonate with.
Since I am into music, I used to also have audible experiences. For example, right before I went to sleep one time, I heard quite clearly and vividly a 3-part harmony of male singers singing the phrase “Oh so natural” It sounded as if they were in my bedroom. It was amazing.
I miss it.
So… the thing for me is to consciously have these visions/audible experiences that are relevant to my purpose and understand them.
Steve
Hi Steve,
Yes, you can definitely open your channels once again, and have these experiences, but in a way that you enjoy and that helps you with your healing and growth. Consciously set the intention to do so, and start a dream journal, and it will open up for you again.
As for your clairaudient experiences, that’s great! Sounds like you have a well developed 5th (throat) chakra. In the same way, you can also access the spiritual music realm, too. It’s a matter of consistent practice.
As for understanding them, well….that’s another topic. I’ve had experiences that certainly helped me with my growth, even though I still can’t wrap my brain around them. 😉
One thing that can help your upper chakra’s channels open up in an easier way is to pay attention to your lower chakras. When our lower chakras are well balanced and working well, it’s much easier on the body to channel information through the upper ones. Many people get sick when they open up their 3rd eye, etc, because their system isn’t strong enough to handle it.
The lower chakras are all about having a strong body, and being comfortable and secure in the world. Once those things are in place, and we keep the maintanence up, the body will “feel” like it’s safe to open up those upper ones again.
Elaine
Ok!
How do you open up your chakras?
How do you pay attention to your lower chakras?
I’ve read about chakras. I’m just not sure how you affect them.
Ah! Steve, this is a really involved question!!! How about some suggestions so you can start experiencing and practicing?
First, get yourself a couple of books, Sonia Choquette’s True Balance is a great workbook that will help you get to know your chakra system experientially rather than intellectually.
If you’ve already read that one, then move on to Eastern Body/Western Mind and Wheels of Life by Anodea Judith. She provides an incredibly in depth view of the chakra system.
I suggest starting with your lower chakras. Your first chakra, which is right at the base of your tailbone, contains the consciousness of survival and security and groundedness in the world. When we view the world through our first chakra, we’re in what the shaman calls “Serpent” It’s a cold blooded, non personal, just things are as they are kind of view.
To strength your first chakra, you want to work on issues of survival, fears around having enough, etc. Also, you want to work on your grounding—make sure that you get enough exercise and feel connected to the earth.
For your 2nd chakra, it is all about vitality, raw creativity, and sexuality. The consciousness asssociated with it is Emotional awareness and empathy, but also aggression. The shaman calls this consciousness “Jaguar.” It shows us what is beneath the surface, what is hidden.
For your 3rd charkra, it’s all about your growth in life as an individual, and personal empowerment separate from our family of origin or our friends/tribe. It’s important to have this chakra well developed!!! Address all issues around these subjects, see how your life reflects lower chakra issues, and you’ll know if you’re in good shape to start working consciously on the upper ones.
hope that helps!!
Sonia’s book gives you more experiential exercises to work with, which is what I recommend.

Hi Elaine,
Until recently, I’ve been hearing voices and know that I am psychic. I see faces and hear whispers; Wondering if I should start reading for people and If I should go learn from Sonia Choquette in developing my gifts. I’m needing some clarification in this spiritual department.
In Friendship and In Spirit, Trisha 🙂
Hi Trisha,
I highly recommend that you get some training from a mentor. Sonia is a great one, and I enjoyed both of her six sensory trainings. However, long before that I met with Debra Grace once a week, and studied on my own, with books; anything I could get my hands on. I did tarot readings “for fun” for quite a while before I turned “professional”
It’s important to learn how to protect yourself and not be overwhelmed by other people’s energy. Knowing how to turn your gifts on and off is essential before you begin doing this for a living.
There are quite a few mentors out there. Make sure you always have at least one mentor, and several peers when you do this work. It makes all the difference in the world. Check out Sonia’s listening of people who have completed her trainings for mentors. There are also Six Sensory groups arond the country now.
Good Luck!!
Elaine
I actually like these kind of dreams, they may not mean anything but is just a future incident. Has happened since childhood, these days I have difficulty remembering my dreams but the ones I do, I look forward to seeing them in real life. And they usually are two years into the future.
Hi Vidya,
What a gift to have! I am glad you enjoy these dreams–it seems that you have a very clear channel. Very interesting that they are usually two years into the future. If you are ever interested, I bet you could develop this channel for some serious relationships with your guides. Have fun with this!
